Foreste aride e ambienti desertici cespugliosi con presenza di pietre e pareti rocciose del Messico orientale e degli Stati Uniti meridionali.

Size

Può misurare fino a 30 cm di lunghezza.

Behavior

Specie diurna, trascorre molto tempo al sole per termoregolarsi. Durante la notte e il periodo di latenza invernale, si ripara in cavità naturali come le fessure delle rocce o del sottosuolo.

Reproduction

Dopo circa 4 mesi di gestazione nascono da 6 a 18 piccoli autosufficienti.

Diet

Si nutre soprattutto di insetti e altri invertebrati.
